Examples of processing:

Polymethyl methacrylate is susceptible to shrinkage during polymerization.  Considerable inaccuracy in the finished prosthesis is generally the result, especially in conventional methods of fabricating dentures.  To resolve this problem, Ivoclar has developed the SR-Ivocaop® system.  A special procedure which fully compensates such shrinkage.  This picture (right) shows dimensional change.   Ivocap compensates for shrinkage by continuing the injection.  The clear acrylic was added here to show how much more was called for during processing. dimensional change
